For families with young children who wish to keep their children beside them in the “big church” throughout the liturgy, please know that your children are welcome in worship with the grownups too, at any service! To help out, cloth bags containing quiet activities such as drawing materials are available near the doors of both the Barn and the Church. If you wish, please take one on your way in.
The St. Peter’s Nursery is fully staffed and available for infants and toddlers between 8:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday mornings. This is a warm, loving, and safe place supervised by responsible caregivers, with whom you can entrust your child during worship services. The nursery is located on the lower level of the Bank Barn. (Nursery is not open during the summer schedule.)
Sunday School is offered each Sunday during the program year for children pre-K to fifth grade during the 9:00 a.m. Family Eucharist. Parents drop their children off with the teachers who welcome them in the lower level classrooms of the Bank Barn. The children return to the service with their families during the exchange of the Peace. Questions can be emailed to the Sunday School director at sundayschool@stpetersgv.org. Learn more.
All young children are welcome to Sunday School, regardless of their religious background or training, whether they have been baptized, or whether their families are parishioners at St. Peter’s.
Youth Group is offered during the program year from 10:20–11:05 a.m., the time between the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services to conveniently allow youth to attend the group either before or after a service. Youth Group meets in the lower level lounge of the Bank Barn. Activities and meetings for youth are periodically held during the summer months to keep youth engaged with one another. Learn more.
