Gober Organ in the Barn

Our two-manual mechanical action organ, hand built by Gober Organs, Inc. of Elora, Ontario, was installed in our Bank Barn in time for Easter Day worship 2006. Master organ builder Halbert Gober worked personally, along with his skilled staff, on every part by hand, using traditional materials and techniques learned in European shops of fine builders. Mr. Gober has been building organs in Canada since 1991.

Escorted by Mr. Gober and Darron Wissinger, of Wissinger Organs, who was helping him, our organ arrived on Sunday evening, April 9, 2006, to an enthusiastic reception committee. The new instrument was dedicated on the Day of Pentecost, June 4th, 2006, and played for a special Evensong that afternoon, “Anthems for England.”
