Upon This Rock

Capital Campaign, 2009-2014

The “Upon This Rock” capital campaign was initiated in March 2009 to raise capital funds for St. Peter’s. The specific goals of the campaign were to reduce the mortgage on the Bank Barn from $875,000 to under $200,000, to obtain broad parish participation in the campaign, to create a capital reserve fund to maintain the Historic Church, Parish House, and Bank Barn, to finish the east wing of the Bank Barn, and to tithe unrestricted funds to parish Outreach.

The active solicitation phase of the capital campaign has ended, with pledges totalling over $1,000,000. With cash collections of over $900,000, the parish was able to refinance the mortgage on the Bank Barn to a new and much smaller loan of $250,000 with an attractive 3.75% interest rate, reducing our monthly payment by about $3,500. We must, however, completely retire the debt within seven years under the terms of the loan, and our other goals remain a work in progress. We offer thanks to God for the many parishioners who have already paid and who continue to make payments on their pledges, and for parishioners old and new who will make new or increased pledges to this important campaign!
