Pastoral Care Commission
Chair: Barbara Stewart 610 321 2655We are all in the ministry of caring for others, fulfilling through our actions Jesus' command in the Gospel of John that we should love one another. Members of this commission offer support to our parishioners as they are on their life's journey according to their spiritual and physical needs and maintain connection with our homebound parishioners.
Hospital and Home Visits
When parishioners are ill, in the hospital, or homebound, members of our Pastoral Care team visit them and thereby maintain the parishioner's connection with the people of St. Peter's.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Our licensed Lay Eucharistic Ministers are sent forth from our Sunday worship services to bring Communion to parishioners who are unable to come to St. Peter's because of illness or because they are homebound.
Prayer List
Our prayer list includes petitions to God for healing, support, and guidance for those in our parish as well as their loved ones. To add a name to our prayer list, please call the parish office.
Cards and Flowers
Sometimes we just want to let you know that you are special and in our thoughts and prayers. The Pastoral Care team sends out cards of sympathy, cheering, or well-wishing to those in our parish, and often brings the flowers from our altar to those who are ill or homebound.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
On the first Saturday of each month, the women of St. Peter's come together in fellowship and prayer to knit shawls for people in our community. These shawls are tangible symbols of the warmth and love that God has for all of God's people. When wrapped around someone in need, they are a "hug" from our knitters to our parishioner.
Sermons and Bulletins
The commission mails our Sunday sermons and bulletins to parishioners who are homebound and unable to attend regular services.
Divine Dinners
Meals are lovingly prepared by parishioners and delivered to those in need of help with nourishing their families during illness or crisis.
Transportation
We could all use a little pick-me up! Pastoral Care team drivers bring you, or someone you love, to a doctor's appointment or hospital outpatient visit.
