Make me know Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.

We invite you, and each member of your family, to participate in Christian Education every Sunday at 10:20 a.m. and throughout the week. Mindful of our mission to make Christ known, St. Peter’s offers Christian Education for all ages. Join us!

Goals of St. Peter’s Christian Education

  • To deepen an understanding of, and personal relationship with, God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and of God’s Church
  • To welcome every young person and adult into this Parish Family and the Christian Church, and especially within our Anglican Episcopal tradition
  • To provide a nurturing and loving atmosphere for all.

NURSERY: A professionally staffed nursery, located in the Barn, allows parents with infants and very young children to attend services and adult Christian Education without distraction.

CHILDREN’S CHAPEL: Offered during the 9:00 a.m. service in the Barn, Children’s Chapel provides our younger children (ages 3-8) an age-appropriate experience of worship and storytelling. After a children’s Liturgy of the Word and a fun activity, children rejoin their families for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

SUNDAY SCHOOL: Volunteer teams co-teach pre-kindergarten through 5th grade in the Sunday school rooms on the Barn’s lower level during our Christian Education period on Sunday mornings from 10:20 to 11:05 – that is, between the 9:00 and 11:15 celebrations of the Eucharist. New teachers and helpers are always welcome – email for more information! A schedule of Sunday school lessons is found at Christian Formation Lessons.

  • Pre-K – Kindergarten: Bible stories come to life, and each Sunday is filled with games, activities, and crafts that bring alive God’s love. The children hear Bibles stories that make God’s active role in people’s lives accessible and interesting. Elements of Godly play and hands-on creativity feed inquisitive minds and reinforce lessons.
  • Elementary grades (1st-5th): “Weaving God’s Promises,” an Episcopal Sunday school curriculum, traces the story of our salvation through Scripture and explores our ongoing relationship with God as individuals and as a community.

YOUTH (6th  – 12th grades): As our children grow into adolescents and young adults, they begin to challenge and question the world around them. Young people seek to explore questions of their faith and how to live out that faith, grounded in their Baptism, in an ever-changing world. We strive to give young people the tools to make good and life-giving decisions as life becomes more complex. Teens discuss contemporary issues in the light of Scripture, tradition, and reason each week, meeting in the Parish House. Youth group activities throughout the year range from dinners, church lock-ins, a ski trip, and hands-on involvement in community outreach.

  • 6th – 8th grade: During Christian formation time, our middle schoolers prepare for confirmation, and find ways to live out their faith in the world through conversation, games, and projects.
  • 9th – 12th grade: High school students are pulled in many directions. School, sports, social life, preparation for their future – it can be hard to capture even a little of their attention for God! But that doesn’t mean high school kids don’t need Christian formation or the support of their parish family. At St. Peter’s, we invite these young people to increase their participation in all elements of worship and parish life: be acolytes, read the lessons, lead intercessory prayer, sing with the choir, join in community outreach and inreach, become Bad Boys For Jesus (whether boys or girls), assist with Sunday school and Children’s Chapel. Almost every aspect of life on the Hill is open to our high schoolers.

ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION: St. Peter’s Adult Forum takes place at 10:20 a.m. every Sunday from September to June. Held in the Barn during children’s Sunday School classes and Youth discussions, parishioners can either stay after the 9:00 service or come early for the 11:15 service to attend. Our parish takes our continuing adult Christian education seriously, and we welcome you to join us!
