Darby Dinners involves assistance with meal service at the Darby Recreation Center in Darby, Pennsylvania. Affiliated with Episcopal Community Services, this outreach opportunity seeks to alleviate systemic hunger that stems from societal poverty. Parishoners also gather the ingredients for many families to have a special Easter meal.
St. Peter’s Ecumenical Monday Dinners is sponsored by St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Phoenixville. Volunteers from St. Peter’s Church in the Great Valley assemble in teams, to prepare and serve a monthly nutritious meal. Two shifts are available for each evening meal: one from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. (prep and cook) and one from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. (serve and cleanup).
Additional activities vary and have included packing weekend lunches for school children, serving summer lunches and packing food for international distribution.
