For over three hundred years people have climbed this high hill within the Great Valley seeking God in this truly historic place. The means of travel have changed, but the purpose of the journey, and what seekers have found here, have not. May you find God here and be found by Him.

OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Outreach Commission Vision Statement

The Outreach Commission envisions St. Peter's Church in the Great Valley to be a center of mission activity, reaching out broadly with wisdom, responsiveness and spontaneity.

Through God’s grace, the Outreach Commission will lead the parish as we strive together to set free those caught in the malevolent grip of poverty, injustice, disease, and hopelessness.

We will go forth in the name of Christ as caring, evangelistic, and compassionate laborers, with a commitment to intentionally increase our gifts of time, talent and treasure.

As members of St. Peter’s Church in the Great Valley, we are fortunate to have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of the Church, our community, and communities around the world. Let us work together through the ministries and outreach of St. Peter’s to give thanks to God for our many blessings. We invite you to visit and become acquainted with each of these important ministries:

  • Aerie House Orphanage, Ethiopia, Africa – Providing orphaned children with a living environment that will meet each child’s basic and medical needs and also promoting educational achievement and life skills.
  • Chester Children's Chorus – Offering talented children from Chester, PA, the opportunity to develop their musical gifts, expand their intellectual and cultural horizons, and strengthen their life skills.
  • The Clinic – Providing medical care for the uninsured
  • Good Works – Restoring hope by repairing homes in Coatesville, PA
  • Habitat for Humanity – Building affordable homes for those in need
  • Home of the Sparrow – Improving the lives of homeless women and children
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry – Knitting prayer shawls for those in any kind of trouble or need
  • Seamen’s Church Institute - Serving seafarers in the ports of the Delaware River
  • Special Projects and Events – Reaching out to people in our backyard and beyond with small, timely missions

Our parish is committed to Christ’s call to help others. The St. Peter’s Outreach Commission administers and grants substantial funds and helps coordinate the work of the parish in our wider community.
