Please join us! St. Peter’s Church in the Great Valley is a place to gather in community for fun and socializing, and to help serve others. Throughout the year, we host a number of events that knit our parish closer together and also provide opportunities for people from outside the parish to join us. Additional information may be listed on our calendar.

A note about volunteering

If you find that you have a few extra hours a month, there are a number of ways to give back by serving those in need or the church. It can also be a fulfilling way to connect with people, whether it is with other volunteers or those in the community who are being impacted. View the opportunities for giving back on our volunteering page.

We welcome and encourage the community to attend the following events and activities:

Vacation Bible School – June 17-21

St. Peter’s will host Vacation Bible School half-day camp from June 17-21, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. This year’s theme is “Abundance Orchard: Where Faith Grows and Hungry People Are Fed,” which focuses on issues around food scarcity throughout the world, drawing on Biblical images of feeding as part of each day’s session. Recurring Offerings

Noonday Prayer

Meets on St. Peter’s Facebook page every Thursday at 12:00 p.m. and is led by clergy.

Popcorn Theology

Usually meets on the second Monday of the month from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Continuing the theme of our Lenten series, music and the search for perfection, we have added an additional for April 15: Hilary and Jackie (1998).  Iris Du Pre inspires a love of music in her daughters whose careers lead them in profoundly different directions. View the film on your own time and meet by Zoom to discuss its themes and symbolism as they relate to moral, ethical, spiritual, and cinematic aspects. To receive the Zoom link contact parishadministrator@stpetersgv.org or members can find it in Keynotes. All are welcome.

Book Club

Please join us and invite a friend. The next book club discussion will be the third Monday in April from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Zoom. About every four to six weeks, we explore both fiction and non-fiction books with a range of themes, including the environment, social justice, immigration, family, and history. The Zoom link will be provided in Keynotes, or you may contact parishadministrator@stpetersgv.org. Next we will read Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. The discussion will be on  Zoom on April 15. Read more for additional details about the Book Club.

Needlework Ministry

Meets on the first Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the Historic Church. Needlework is followed by a light lunch. Occasionally, we meet in the Bank Barn. Contact knitters@stpetersgv.org, view the church calendar, or visit Facebook to learn more.

Red Cross Blood Drives

The next blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, in the Barn. Please register at stpetersblooddrive.com and encourage your family and friends to donate too. For questions, please email info.stpetersblooddrive.com.

Wednesday Morning Prayer and Bible Study

Women on the Hill

Typically, this group meets on the first Monday of the month in the Historic Church, in the early evening. Light refreshments will be served. This is a time to enhance our connections, to share stories and learn from one another. In April we will have a special conversation with a flower expert who leads our Flower Guild.
