The Arrival of our New Gober Organ in the Bank Barn

Our 'two manual mechanical action' organ, hand built by Gober Organs, Inc. of Elora, Ontario was recently installed in our Bank Barn in time for Easter Day worship. Master organ builder Halbert Gober, worked personally, along with his skilled staff, on every part by hand, using traditional materials and techniques learned in European shops of fine builders. Mr. Gober has been building organs in Canada since 1991.

Escorted by Mr. Gober and Darron Wissinger, of Wissinger Organs, who was helping him, our organ arrived on Sunday evening, April 9, 2006 to an enthusiastic reception committee. We welcome you to click on each photo below, as provided by Dr. Martha Johnson, to share in this exciting addition to our Bank Barn.

During the month of May we will celebrate the addition of our new Gober organ, as well as giving thanks for our beautiful Bigelow tracker organ installed within our church building in the Spring of 2003, with ten minutes of music before the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Sunday services. We will then dedicate the new instrument on the Day of Pentecost, June 4th, 2006, and play it for a special Evensong that afternoon, "Anthems for England," followed by a cookout.
