Dedication of Date Stone
for New Fellowship Hall

A marvelous date stone for St. Peter's new Community Outreach Building, or Fellowship Hall, was dedicated during services on Sunday, September 18, 2005. The date stone was donated by Catherine and Harvard Wood, IV. Catherine is the daughter of long-time parishioners, Susy and Gary Baum.

The handsome stone was created by Harvard to an historically authentic design for bank barn date stones provided by Christopher Miller of John Milner Architects. Carved in the date stone are The Keys of St. Peter. The date stone will be imbedded high on the east wall of the new building near the peak of the roof.

Harvard is the fourth generation of Woods running the H. C. Wood Monument Co., providers of customized delicately carved memorials in stone and bronze. The Woods have, for many years, provided monument design, building and restoration services in St. Peter’s churchyard.
